I remember observing my mom applying a lipstick when I was a little girl; the way her signature red lipstick worked it's magic and put together her beauty was something that fascinated me. As I grew older, I enjoyed playing with eyeshadows, glitters, blushes, and lipsticks that I found in an old makeup box, always trying to imitate a look I had seen previously in a magazine or on TV.
This part of my childhood always stayed with me and although I later digressed into engineering and made a career in the IT industry, the highlight of my day remained getting ready in the morning with my ever so priceless make up set. I loved every moment of getting ready each day and frequently experimented with different textures of foundations, eyeshadows and any type of eyeliners I could lay my hands on.
Days turned into months which became years and I passively spent time on YouTube to train myself and become better at what I loved. I enjoyed seeing how makeup artists worked on someone and a voice inside me kept getting louder, asking me to push my boundaries and take a leap outside the comfort zone of my now well established and lucrative career in IT.
It became apparent that this is something I want to pursue for myself and I took the brave step to apply and get trained at one of the best make up school there is, Glauca Rossi School of makeup, where the likes of Charlotte Tilbury have been trained. I am grateful to the school to have challenged and broadened my scope of thinking, while giving me the opportunity to try my hand at so many different techniques and thus honing my skills.
Now, in this new chapter of my life, I am looking forward to experimenting and learning each day.
